William J. Kopp 86, passed away on November 16, 2022, at his residence at Beach House in Naples, FL. He was born February 4, 1936, to the late William and Agnes M. (Stegbauer) Kopp in Cincinnati, OH. He had been a resident of Naples for the past 40 years. Bill was an entrepreneur, having owned numerous businesses including Silver Oil Company, Strothman Tank Lines, and Greenlon Lawn Care. Bill was a business leader, a visionary, creative, and a risk-taker. He built the first self-service gasoline station in the state of Ohio. Eventually operating approximately 80 self-service gasoline stations. He retired in 1986 at the age of 50. Bill enjoyed his life, living between Naples, FL, and Linville Ridge, NC, traveling, driving his bus, playing gin, and square dancing. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Eileen P. Kopp of Naples, FL; daughter, Becky Ann Sharon and her husband, Scott Sharon of Naples, FL; son, Scot W. Kopp and his wife, Constance A Kopp of Covington, KY; three grandchildren, Jennifer A. Murtland, William E. Kopp, and Bradley P. Kopp. He was preceded in death by his brother Howard and his sister Mary. He is survived by his sister, Ruth Spitznagel of Mt. Orab, OH. A Memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, November 26, 2022, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.
