Hamilton Jr., 85, of Knoxville, formerly of Ridgefield, NJ, passed away from natural causes on Saturday, November 19, 2022. Bill was born and raised in Ridgefield, NJ, spending over 60 years of his life there before retiring and moving to Tennessee. He proudly served as a police officer with the Ridgefield Police Department for 25 years. Bill loved spending time with his family, being involved as a coach when his children were younger to always making sure he was present and available if help was needed. He took pride in all that he did and was loyal in every way to those that he cared about and loved. He was an avid Mets fan and enjoyed tending to his bird feeders and watching Tennessee football games. Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife of 59 years, Joan, in 2021. He is survived by his children Bill Hamilton and his wife Nian, Leigh Grunau and her husband Tim, and Cheryl Rovello and her husband Jim; his grandchildren Ken (Shanna), Sean, Kaitlyn, Scott, James and Joey; and his great grandchildren, Will and Finn. The family will be holding a celebration of life at a future date and requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Bill’s name, www.stjude.org.
