William Coyle, 69 years of age passed away on September 30, 2022 in hospice care at the HCA Medical Center. William (Bill) was born September 19, 1953 in Charleston, S.C. to the late William John Coyle and Jean Louise Coyle. He was the oldest of four children and only son. Bill attended at Riverside Elementary in Riverside, N.J. and finished his education in Jacksonville, FL, graduating from Terry Parker High School in 1972. He also attended Jacksonville University. He began working for the Jacksonville Shipyards, in 1975, but left there to enlist in the Navy as a hospital apprentice for the Naval Hospital. He then worked as a Marine Electrician for four shipyard companies: Jacksonville Shipyards, General Dynamics, Colannis Shipyards and E.C.R. Shipyards from 1979 until his retirement in 2020. His colleagues said, “He was the easiest person to work with, a good leader, and a troubleshooter.” Bill was married in 1977 to Dewanna (Tracy) Shuler, who preceded him in death. Bill was an avid Jacksonville Jaguars and F.S.U. Seminole football fan. He also enjoyed playing Sudoku. He was registered to vote and was politically opinionated more on the right than left. He is survived by his three sisters: Jeannie Westbrook, Riverview, FL, Colleen Barnes, Panama City, FL., Marcianne “Joy” Coyle, Jacksonville, FL and his late wife’s son, Drew Gibson, Jacksonville, FL. He has been a caring, thoughtful, easy going and smart older brother. He is and will be missed sorely by his family and friends. His visitation will be held Friday, October 7th at Arlington Park Funeral Home, 6920 Lone Star Rd. at 3:00 PM, followed by his funeral service at 5:00 PM.
