William “Bill” Ore , age 71, of Mays Landing NJ passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022 at Inspira Medical Center-Vineland after a brief illness. He was born in Bridgeton NJ on September 22, 1951 to the late William D. Ore and Evelyn Ore (nee Zanes) and graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1969. He was the husband of Judith Ore (nee Drewes) for nearly 22 years until her death in 2018. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp in 1971, attaining the rank of sergeant, and served until honorably discharged in 1975. He held management positions both at Burger Chef and Mobile Gas before joining WaWa Corporation. During his 20 year career at WaWa he managed multiple store locations, most recently in Mays Landing, until his retirement in December 2019. Bill loved watching baseball and was an enthusiastic fan of Wild Wheels Wall of Death, a vintage traveling carnival event. He was a staunch supporter of the men and women in blue and displayed the American flag proudly. He enjoyed spending time in Ocean City NJ and photographing the beach and boardwalk there. Bill is survived by his brother, Bruce W. Ore and his wife, Patricia Carter-Ore of Bridgeton and sister, Linda Farrell of Simpsonville S.C. and her children Kim Yates (Ken) and Victor Farrell (Amanda). Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service with military honors at 2:00 pm on Friday, October 28, 2022 at Greenmount Cemetary, 124 S. First Rd. in Hammonton NJ 08037. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Wounded Warrior Project are suggested. Donations may be made online or mailed to PO Box 758516 Topeka, KS 66675.
