Obituary Please share a memory of Wayne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends. View Tribute Book Wayne Spencer Walker Sr., 81, entered into his heavenly home on October 1, 2022. He was born on August 2, 1941 in Pittsylvania County to the late Ula Violet Collins Burnett and the late Walter Spencer Walker. He is survived by his loving wife, Judy Garland Adkins Walker. Wayne was a member of Vandola Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and also served with Mrs. Walker as a communion steward. He was a active member of Tunstall Fire and Rescue for over 50 years, where he served as Chief for 15 of those years. He retired from Overnite Transportation where he worked as a truck driver for 40 ½ years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons; Skip Walker (Angie) of Danville, VA., Corey Walker (Carey) of Danville, VA., daughters; Amy Cline (Dean Fowler) of Chatham, VA., Robin Brooks (Tim) of Chatham, VA., sister; Christine Ford (Elson) of Blairs, VA., grandchildren; Kasey Cline Harris (Bradley), Jeremy Cline, Joey Cline (Ashley), Madison Brooks (Charity), Jacob Walker (Brittany), Ben Walker (Kirsten), Nicole Walker, Sarah Walker and Leah Burnette (Bryce), great grandchildren; Haley, Andi, Leelee, Abi, Braxton, Raegan, Zoey, Presley, Olivia, Wyatt, Ashlynn, Madelynn, Gavin and Isaac, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and a special cat; Smokey. In addition to his parents, Wayne was predeceased in death by a brother; Houston Walker, two sisters; Stella Walker Watkins and Dorothy Frances Walker Josephs. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Vandola Baptist Church from 12:30PM to 2:00PM. A funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at 2:00PM at Vandola Baptist Church with Dr. Scott Bortz and Mr. Glenn Hudson officiating. Interment will follow at the Doss Family Cemetery at 302 Hedge Road, Chatham, VA. 24531. At other times the family will be at the residence.
