Virginia Eileen Siebert, 88, passed away suddenly on October 30, 2022, at her home. Eileen was fun-loving, adventurous, and as spunky as they come. Her one-of-a-kind personality filled any room she entered, and she will be missed by many. Eileen was a long-time resident of Carthage, Missouri. She was born to Lex and Gladys Bowman of Hollister, Missouri on January 9, 1934. She graduated from High School in Hollister in 1952 and subsequently attended Draughon Business College in Springfield, Missouri. She married her sweetheart, Thomas Siebert, on July 31, 1954. Eileen worked at the Missouri State Capitol in the proofing department and then as a Driver’s Examiner Clerk for the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Additionally, she attended beauty school and was a licensed cosmetologist. Eileen was a loving mother to her only son, her pride and joy, Michael Siebert, Sr. To her many grandchildren she was affectionately known as “Nanny”. She was a dedicated Christian, reading her Bible daily and telling as many as she could about the love of Jesus. She loved to try new things, to hear a good story, and to spend time at her home place in Taney County. Springtime was her favorite season, as she was a gardener, and she loved the bright colors of blooming flowers. She reminisced fondly about the past, but never took for granted a moment of life, which she lived to its fullest. She is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Siebert of Carthage, Mo. She is survived by her son Michael Siebert and wife Janiece of Carthage, Mo. She is also survived by four grandchildren: Marcus Siebert of Carthage, Mo; Mason Siebert of Carthage, Mo; Cathryn (Kate) McNary and husband John of Golden City, Mo; and Malachi Siebert of Carthage, Mo. Eileen was preceded in death by two grandsons, Michael Siebert, Jr. and Matthew Siebert. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother Kenneth Bowman and by a sister, Reanna Bowman. Eileen is survived by nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, November 3, 2022, at Ulmer Funeral Home in Carthage, Missouri. Services will be held at First Church of the Nazarene in Carthage, Missouri on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Gobbler’s Knob Cemetery in Hollister, Missouri at 2:00 p.m. Condolences may be made online at www.ulmerfh.com.
