Velva Sue Dlugosh January 8, 1935 – December 7, 2022 Share this obituary Upload Photo Velva Sue Dlugosh was born in Beeville, Texas on January 8, 1935 to parents Calvin and Paula Henley. Velva was called home on December 7, 2022 at the age of 87. She is preceded in death by her father; Calvin W. Henley Sr., mother; Paula Chambrad Henley, spouse; Daniel F. Dlugosh, son; Keith W. Dlugosh, brothers; Warren E. Henley, and Calvin “Butch” W. Henley Jr., half-daughter; Dorothy J. Davis, and sister; Geraldine F. Anderson. Velva is survived by her son; Robert P. Williams (Patricia), daughters; Melody L. Williams (Stephen Sr.), and Tinna S. Moreno (Anthony). Sisters; Corinne J. Kotzur, Celia Rogers, and Barbara Goldsmith. Grandchildren; Christopher J. Dlugosh, Evan Williams, Christopher Davis, Scott Williams, Stephen E. Williams Jr., Anthony Michael D. Moreno Jr., and Samantha J. Dlugosh. Velva had numerous great- grandchildren. Velva was a widow after being married to the love of her life after 28 years of marriage. For over 40 years of her life Velva worked for AAFES. She always enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many of Velva’s hobbies included were being a big fan of Elvis Presley, and always making it known to everyone that her and Elvis Presley shared a birthday, she also enjoyed beading and jewelry making, going to the casinos, playing games on her computer, shopping, and working with her hands (including fixing things around the house and working on cars). Velva also enjoyed being a big fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs. A special touch about Velva’s life was that she was a Breast Cancer survivor of 31 years. She will be missed by all her family and friends. Please come and join the family of Velva Sue Dlugosh as we gather to honor and pay tribute to a wonderful mother and a beautiful life lived. Services are as follows: Friday- December 16, 2022 1p.m.-6p.m.- Visitation to be held at Texas Funeral Home Chapel, 2702 Castroville Road, San Antonio, Texas 78237 with a prayer to start at 4:30p.m. ***All services will conclude at 6p.m.*** Print Obituary
