Obituary Tony “Cortez” Jonathan Lundy, 51 passed away Friday September 23, 2022. At Sentara Princess Ann Hospital in VA. Beach, VA. He was a native of Suffolk, VA & the son of the late Herman & Alma Lee Lundy. Tony was preceded in death by his brothers Herman M. Lundy Jr., Michael J. Lundy, Clyde R. Lundy, and Hermando “Dominic” Lundy. Tony was raised in Antioch United Church. He graduated in 1989 from Suffolk High School & attended Lees–McRae College in Banner Elk, North Carolina before transferring to St. Paul’s College in Lawrenceville, VA. Tony Lundy made a name for himself as the Group A Player of the Year in 1989 after leading the Suffolk High “Red Raiders” to twenty-six straight victories and the State Title his senior season. Tony’s passion for basketball was endless. He also enjoyed mentoring youth, loved traveling and working outdoors. He leaves to cherish his memories with Melissa Hayden (life partner), one sister, Silveria Woodson (Larry) of Suffolk, two brothers Larry Lundy (Ozen) and Alvin Lundy (Angela) of Georgia, one Godson Tekeim Reynard and one loving aunt Lucille H. Creekmore of Virginia Beach, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives & loyal friends.
