Obituary Tim Vaughn Lawson, 75 passed away on September 23, 2022 at Brookdale Assisted Living in North Richland Hills, TX. He was born on April 19, 1947 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Robert Dean Lawson and Gwendolyn Ruth (Collis-Lawson) Thorson. He was reared and later legally adopted by Irvin Thorson. Tim grew up in Jewell, Iowa. He graduated from South Hamilton Community High School in Jewell, Iowa in 1965. After high school, he joined the United States Marine Corp in 1968. He served as a Machine Gunner in the Vietnam war and was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1*, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device, Combat Action Ribbon and Rifle Marksman Badge. He was honorably discharged from the military in 1974. In 1976, Tim moved to Texas and began working for his biological father selling, installing & servicing commercial dry-cleaning equipment. Several years later, he started his own company in the same industry and successfully ran it for over a decade before finally deciding to join the corporate world. Tim accepted a position with Bibbentuckers in January of 2000 imparting with them his extensive knowledge and expertise in the field for 20 years. He retired in 2020. Tim married Ronda Lynn Springer in 1995 in Maybank, TX. They were happily married for 27 years. Tim and Ronda were founding members of Community of Hope United Methodist church in Mansfield, TX. Tim truly took pleasure in many facets of life but grilling, bowling, collecting firearms and traveling were of special interest to him. Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Bob Lawson and Irv & Gwen Thorson. Tim is survived by his children, Shane (& wife Jennifer) Lawson of Hurst, TX and Kimberly Lawson of Keller, TX; his stepsons, Brian (& wife Jessica) Norris of Columbia, MO, Neil Norris (& Christine Baker) of Arlington, TX and Greg Haws of Seven Points, TX; his sister, Sherri Maland of Rockford, Illinois; his sister, Trudie (& Lyle) Greiner of Des Moines, IA; his sister, Gretta Thorson of Minneapolis, MN; his brother, Mitchell (& wife Laura) Thorson of Leland, IA; his seven grandchildren, Scott, Kevin, Alex, Addie, Jo, Virginia and Tabitha; and several nieces, nephews as well as various other relatives. A memorial service will be held at Emerald Hills Funeral Home, 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd., Kennedale, TX 76060 @ 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.
