Thomas’ Obituary Thomas F. Ziemba, age 87, a resident of Dekalb, passed away on Monday, November 21, 2022. He was born October 28, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois to Frank & Julianna Ziemba. Tom was born and raised in Chicago and graduated from Lane Tech High School. He served in the US Army during the Korean War Era. Tom worked as an optician for his entire career and retired when he was 65. In retirement he enjoyed traveling the world with his beloved Donna Smith. He was passionate about playing golf. He is survived by his three daughters: Marilyn Rolfe of Schaumburg, Terese (Ed) O’Blanis of Glendale Heights and Judy Ciufo of Bartlett; three grandchildren, Gregory (fiancee Brittany) Ciufo, Jacqueline (Ryan) Zavala and Nigel (fiancee Leann) Rolfe; his sisters Ceil Kreiter & Terry (the late George) Rucka; and many nieces & one nephew. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas M. Ziemba; his beloved partner, Donna Smith; and his parents. A visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Hultgren Funeral Home, 304 N. Main St., Wheaton, IL 60187, where a funeral service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Private interment will be held at Assumption Cemetery in Wheaton, Illinois.
