Susan’s Obituary Susan Kay Jenkins, age 67, of Allison, Iowa, was born the daughter of James & Mariam (Hayes) Sheriffs on May 13, 1954, in Hamilton, Ohio. She graduated from high school in Eaton, Ohio. She then attended and graduated with an accounting degree from Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. On July 3, 1976, Susan was united in marriage with David Timothy Jenkins at Glenn Miller Rose Garden in Richmond, Indiana. Susan worked at Second National Bank in Richmond, then for 14 years at the Richmond Police Department in dispatch. She later worked at Ford Motor Company in Connersville, Indiana, and Collier County Sherriff’s Department in dispatch in Naples, Florida. Susan retired from the Department of Motor Vehicles in Richmond Indiana. Six years ago, Susan and David moved to Allison. Susan enjoyed camping, dancing, singing, and watching science fiction. She loved to joke around with people. Susan dearly loved her daughter, son and grandson. Susan died Tuesday, April 19, 2022, at MercyOne Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, of natural causes. Susan is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mariam Sheriffs. Susan is survived by her husband of 45 years, David of Allison; one daughter, Quinncyann (Rod) Adams of Parkersburg; one son, David Christopher (Alyssa) Jenkins of Richmond, Indiana; three grandchildren, Deacon Lucas Jenkins, Kylee Hayes and Mary Hunt; one great-grandson, Emerson Ray; and two sisters, Pam Buriff and Connie Barney, both of Eaton, Ohio.
