Sue Ann Boland October 27, 1934 – January 28, 2022 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card On Friday, January 28, 2022, Sue Ann Grace Boland, 87, succumbed from challenges as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident on April 25, 2009 and Covid-19. Born to Ross and Jewel Elms Grace on October 27, 1934, in Haskell, Texas, Sue attended schools in Beattie, DeLeon, Scranton and Breckenridge, graduating in May 1956 . On June 17, 1950, Sue married Bill Boland at the home of the United Methodist Church District Superintendent, The Reverend John Lightfoot in Cisco, Texas. They shared 64 years together. A career in education provided Sue with many experiences and friendships. Her passion for children and learning began when she operated a private kindergarten while attending classes at Cisco Jr. College. Sue completed her B.S.degree at Tarleton State University where she graduated with honors. After beginning her educational career in first grade at East Elementary, Sue obtained her master’s degree in counseling. Her tenure concluded after serving BISD as a counselor at East and North Elementaries. A lifelong member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, Sue played the piano as her husband, Bill, led the singing for Sunday services, revivals, and “Fifth Sunday Singings”. She loved “What a Friend We Have in Jesus”, “Near the Cross”, “Blessed Assurance” and “How Great Thou Art”. Sue was truly a servant of God serving the schools, community and her church tirelessly with her time and donations for the less fortunate. The Reverend Billy Graham and George Beverly Shea filled her soul with faith and inspiration. Son, Neil Boland, brothers Lelon, Lindon and John Grace in addition to sister, Ruby Park and aunt Mae Morgan preceded her in death. Survivors include; daughters, Shalene Kerlin and husband, Kelby and Michelle McCarty and husband, Michael ; and son, Chris Boland. Grandchildren, Kelly Kerlin (Stephanie), Kylie Kunefke (Brent), Ashley Valdez (Domingo), and Logan Jezisek. Great-granddaughters Ella Kerlin, Chloe Kerlin, Summer Valdez and Brooke Kunefke and great-grandsons Carson Valdez and Kole Kunefke survive their “AnnMomma”. Sister Beth Calvert and husband Bill, and a host of nieces and nephews survive her. Memorials may be made to: St. Paul United Methodist Church P.O.Box 668 Breckenridge, Tx 76424 OR a library book donation in Sue’s name to East Elementary 1310 E Elm Street Breckenridge, Tx 76424 or North Elementary 300 W 7th Street Breckenridge, Tx 76424. A private burial was held in Breckenridge Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron, TX.
