Stuart Matthew Dean, 70, of Hummelstown, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on December 7, 2022 at the Hershey Medical Center. He was born June 3, 1952 in Bloomington, IL, a son of the late Dale and Mary Lou (Frederick) Dean Stuart was a graduate of LeRoy High School in LeRoy, IL, and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He had been self-employed doing building and ground maintenance for many years. He enjoyed reading and spending time with his grandchildren and dogs. Surviving are his wife, Linda R. (Merker) Dean; sons, Matthew Stuart Dean of Hummelstown and Michael Dale Dean of Hershey; four grandchildren, Madisyn, Maxwell, Harrison, Sydney; brother, Steve Dean of LeRoy, IL; sisters, Susan (Bryce) Poppe of Cadiz, KY, Sally (Michael) Jones of Richmond, VA, and Sara Dean of Philo, IL. A service to celebrate his life will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 10:30am in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory in Hershey. Visitation will begin at 9:30am. Interment with military honors will follow the service at 12:30pm at the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorial contributions be made to PA Wounded Warriors Inc., 1013 Mumma Road, Suite 203, Wormleysburg, PA 17043. Share condolences at www.hooverfuneralhome.com
