Steven Craig Bowie, 61, of Welcome, Maryland and Ormond Beach, Florida, died Friday, September 23, 2022. He was born on March 7, 1961 to Ben and Mable Bowie. Steve is survived by his daughter, Katherine McGarvey (Timmy) and grandchildren Colin and Riley McGarvey. Also surviving are his aunts: Olive Perry, Judy Tippett, Sally Davis, Carol Bowie, Ruth Fennell (Johnny), and Joyce Hockett; his uncles Alton Bowie and Danny Hockett. His extended family includes 23 first cousins and 14 second cousins. He is also survived by his beloved animals Louie, Baxter, Bella, Nook and Benji. He was predeceased by his parents Ben and Mable Bowie; grandparents Ben and Mary Bowie and Malcolm and Suzie Hockett. Steve graduated from La Plata High School with the class of 1979. He is a retired member of Steam Fitters Union 602 and an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Steve’s father along with his parents, Ben and Mary Bowie, and his brother Douglas Bowie established Goose Bay Marina in 1968. It continued as a family owned operation until his cousin Joe Bowie and Harley Coombs sold the business in 2021. Steve lived life to the fullest and was a great friend to many. HUGS!
