Obituary Stacie Marie Smith, 35, of Lapeer, died Wednesday August 3, 2022 after a long fight with cancer that recently came back. She was born August 31, 1986 in Pontiac to parents Richard and Tamara (Warner) Brown, Sr. Stacie married DeElton Smith on September 18, 2010 in Imlay City. Stacie loved her job at the Karmanos Cancer Institute, Lapeer, where she was able to be a positive beacon to so many others’ dark days. Several saw her being an advocate for those with cancer; she was a survivor since 2016 and a champion for many. “Stacie was a fearless, BAD ASS.” She loved ferociously and made no apologies for who she was. Above all else, she loved being a mother and going to games for her kids. Stacie loved her family, her children and husband. Mrs. Smith is survived by husband: DeElton, children: Ryan, Parker and Brooklyn Smith, parents: Richard and Tamara Brown of Flushing, father & mother-in-law: Steven and Jacqueline Smith, siblings: Melissa (Grant Campau) Brown, Richard (Katie Coats) Brown, Jr., Tony Brown, sister-in-law: Natasha Smith as well as numerous cousins, extended family and ‘nearly family’ friends. Stacie’s visitation will be 4:00-9:00pm Friday at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Lapeer. Her celebration of life will be 11:00am Saturday August 6, 2022 at Muirs officiated by Pastor Nate Whipple. Cremation will follow services. Memorial contributions may be made to the family directly or at gofundme.com (search Stacie Smith, Lapeer, MI).
