Sonja’s Obituary Mrs. Sonja Elizabeth Henderson age 60 of Gum Log Road, passed away peacefully on Friday September 9, 2022 in the Northeast GA Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Henderson was born on February 18, 1962 in Lincolnton, NC., the daughter of the late Barbara Adams. She was a lifelong resident of Union County. Sonja loved cooking, scrapbooking, sewing, her family and most of all she loved the Lord. She had a servant heart and there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family or anyone who knew her. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. Mrs. Henderson was a member of Faith Baptist Church. Surviving Mrs. Henderson are her loving husband and best friend of twenty years, Michael Henderson of Young Harris, one son and daughter in law, Justin and Jeannette Franklin of Blairsville, one daughter and son in law, Lucretia and Johnny Collins of Blairsville, two sisters, Lisa Evans of Ball Ground, GA., Tamara and Michael Turner of Pensacola, FL., two brothers, Scott Adams of Blairsville, Greg Adams of Blue Ridge, seven grandchildren, Kole Jenkins, Stella Collins, Leah Franklin, Breanne Franklin, Braedon Henderson, Rylan Henderson and Harper Henderson, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Sunday September 11, 2022 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with Rev. Marty Duncan and Rev. Tommy Seay officiating. Special music will be presented by Craig Collins. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Scott Adams, Greg Adams, Kole Jenkins, Ethan Henderson, Heath Henderson and Cody Adams. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Collins and Connor Sosebee. Interment will follow in the Revival Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening from 6-8:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
