View Tribute Book Shirley Sue Nord, 86, of Marinette passed away on August 20, 2022 at Sun Valley Homes with family by her side. Born November 21, 1935 on the family farm outside of Monroeville, Indiana, she is the daughter of the late Ralph and Shermie (Maddox) Sprague. Shirley enjoyed her childhood on the family farm and enjoyed being active in school groups. Shirley married Charles L. Nord of Monroeville, Ind. on October 9th, 1954. After some overseas travel and a few jobs, they moved to Marinette in 1973 where they purchased a home on the bay. Shirley enjoyed raising her family and spending a lot of time with family and friends. She also enjoyed many hours playing bridge with her lady friends, gardening, golfing, sailing, and cooking for her family. Shirley always had a great sense of humor and a huge heart. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother. Shirley is survived by her two children, Charles L. (Gloria) Nord and Jonathan R. (Brenda) Nord; one brother, David (Joy) Sprague; one sister Virginia (Don) Smith; one grandchild Cheyenne N. Nord; and numerous nieces, nephews and step grandchildren. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one sister, Carol. Her wishes were to be cremated and to have a celebration of life in her memory at a later date. In memory of Shirley friends and family can make a donation to the Menominee Animal Shelter which was dear to her heart. Hansen-Onion-Martell funeral home is assisting the family.
