INDERLIED Sr., Sherwood W. “Woody” – 84, of Clayton passed away on October 9, 2022. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Woody was a longtime resident of Clayton. He proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. He worked for Shell Polypropylene which later became Huntsman in Woodbury for many years before retiring. Woody was full of fun. He could draw, paint, sing and dance. He loved Kennedy, Elvis, the 50’s, and a good joke. He took the mic at a company party once to serenade his beloved wife. He loved children, camping and nature. He was the dad in the yard with the kids, swimming in the pool or the ocean. He was a Little League coach, fan of the Phillies, Eagles and Flyers, as well as fan of the grandchildren’s activities. Lover of nature, he could be found cleaning his humming bird feeders or his aquarium. Besides the cat and dog, there was often a litter of puppies or bunnies, or a garden for turtles laying eggs. There was nothing he couldn’t or wouldn’t do and he proved it by becoming a Catholic so he and his wife could have their marriage blessed. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Teressa (2017). Woody is dearly missed and forever loved by his family which includes his three children, Woody, Jr., Tina (and Bill) Catanoso and Lisa (Mark) Steinberg; seven grandchildren, Tara, Dominic, Ciara, Justin, Rebecca, Olivia and Mario; as well as nieces, nephews and dear friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday (Oct. 14th) at 1:30pm in Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 525 Washington St., Cape May where there will be a viewing from 12:30pm until 1:20pm. Interment is private and at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital online at www.stjude.org (Spilker Funeral Home, Cape May) spilkerfuneralhome.com
