Shelia Stanford, 65 of Athens, passed away on Thursday, December 29th, 2022, at her residence. Mrs. Stanford was born on October 3rd, 1957, in Athens, to James O. Boyd and Carolyn Clevenger Boyd. Mrs. Stanford is survived by her husband, Stan Stanford; son Stan Stanford, Jr. (Allison) of Olive Branch, Mississippi; grandsons Bailey Stanford and Taylor Stanford; brother Dickie Thomas (Chenequa); and sister Kathy Boyd. She is preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services for Mrs. Stanford will be Saturday, December 31st, 2022, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with David O’Connell officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:00-2:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bailey Stanford, Taylor Stanford, Eric Stanford, Drew Stanford, Romen McDonald, and Greg Stanford. Honorary pallbearers will be David, Tabitha, and Eric Gables. Mrs. Stanford was a member of Oliver Church of Christ.
