Obituary Sarah Margaret (Markham) Saunders With sadness and deep abiding love, we mourn the loss of Sarah Saunders — also known as Mom, Grandma, Aunt Seekie — who passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Meadow Grove Nursing home in Grove City, Ohio, after a brief illness and years of extra special care living with her daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Dave Myers. Sarah was born in Columbus, Ohio, on December 28, 1931, to Chester and Hazel Babe Markham. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years Robert (Doc) Saunders, as well as her siblings Ruth, Dean, Betty, Hazel, Stella, Mary, and Chester. Sarah is survived by her children Rebecca Saunders Schumacher (Ed), Donna Saunders Myers (Dave), Ronald Saunders, James Saunders (Diane); grandchildren Michael Myers (Julie), Ryan Schwaigert (Brittany), Edward Schumacher, Christopher Schumacher (Tara), Jessica Tollet (Justin), Nicole Rasor (Joe), Lindsay Saunders, Josh Saunders and David Williams. She is also survived by great grandchildren Haley, Dakota, Greyson, Lachlan, Ella, Kate, Audria, Mackenzie, Tyler, Alice, Owen, Trina, Sophia, Elijah, Parker, Dylan and Anora, and by great, great grandchild Lorenzo. Sarah retired from the State of Ohio Department of Taxation after two decades of service. She was also honored with Riverside Hospital’s Volunteer of the Year Award three times, in recognition of her tireless dedication to babies in its neonatal care unit. Sarah enjoyed her life surrounded by family and friends. She also enjoyed going to the casino, playing cards, crossword puzzles, word searches, watching crime shows and visiting her daughter and son-in -law wherever they were living. Sarah will be sadly missed and cherished forever. Until me meet again. Love you always.
