Sally was an extraordinary woman and mother, Dad’s “greatest blessing”, a devout Catholic, proud graduate of Barat College, St. Scholastica Academy, and St. Jerome Grammar School. Sally was the exceptionally kind, generous, faith-filled, wise matriarch of the Bredemann Automotive Group who contributed invaluably to the success of the business. She was a dedicated teacher before she paused her career to raise her family. For fifty-six-years, Sally was an active parishioner of St. Joan of Arc (SJA) Parish in Evanston who had a captivating smile, spectacular sense of humor, and an amazing memory of special moments. She treasured the St. Joan of Arc community and neighborhood, and she was a dedicated volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Sally also was committed to the Arc of Hope School in Uganda, a philanthropic program within the SJA community. In 2020, Sally was honored by Arc of Hope for her ongoing support of its underserved students. Arc of Hope established a Bredemann Family building on the school campus in gratitude to Joe and Sally, offering a brighter future to the children living in poverty there. Sally was grateful for her Rogers Park roots; Howard Street, a known boundary for the City of Chicago, was named after Sally’s relative, Howard Ure. Sally cherished Family, summers in Douglas, Moppie, tennis matches, book clubs, picnics in the backyard and friendships from every part of her life. Lifelong surviving friends include Sr. Martha Curry, RSCJ, (her Barat roommate) and Frank McCabe (since 1st Grade), who both were a great sense of strength and comfort to her. Sally cared, deeply and genuinely about everyone she spoke with, and her warmth, humility, generosity, and sincere best wishes for everyone she knew profoundly touched the lives of many people.
