DiMassimo August 29, 1930 – November 24, 2022 Salvatore A. “Sal” DiMassimo, 92, passed away November 24, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on August 29, 1930 in Valhalla, NY. Sal was a resident of the Washington, DC area for more than 60 years. He resided in Vienna, VA for most of that time. He was also a devoted NY Yankee and Washington Redskin fan. He is preceded in death by his parents Dominick and Virginia DiMassimo, his loving wife of 64 years, Jamelia M. DiMassimo, two brothers Thomas and Dominick and sister Rita Maglio. He is survived by nine children, Diana Drury (Darren), Barbara Snow (Dan), Richard (Maria), Theresa DiMassimo (Scott), Gina Dye (Jeff), Debra DiMassimo-Grigsby (John), Paula DiMassimo (Dave), Cathy DeBrigida (Ron), Christy Raut (Raj). He was proud grandfather to 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Mr. DiMassimo graduated from White Plains High School in New York in 1948. In 1953, he was inducted into the U.S. Army where he served during the Korean War. He was then stationed at Fort Meyer, North Post, in Arlington, VA. with the Third Infantry Regiment (Old Guard) until his discharge in 1955. Mr. DiMassimo was then employed by the Central Intelligence Agency until his retirement of more than 31 years, as a Senior Records Management Officer. Upon his retirement he was awarded for his outstanding contributions to the CIA: The Career Intelligence Medal. After his retirement from the CIA, he was employed by several other companies. In 1999, he fully retired, in order to spend more time with family and friends. Mr. DiMassimo had been residing the past two years at Waltonwood Senior Living in Ashburn, VA. where he received kind and compassionate care. Visitation will be held Friday, December 2, 2022, from 6:00-8:00 pm at Money & King Funeral Home in Vienna, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church, 8601 Wolftrap Rd. SE, Vienna, VA.
