Sallie was born February 2nd, 1938, in Hamilton, Montana to Herschel E. and Grace Taylor Scott. When she was in 2nd grade her family moved to Artesia, NM where she would later graduate high school. Sallie met her husband, Bobby, in Artesia where he was playing for the local professional baseball team at the time. They married a couple of years later in Lubbock, TX and later moved to Fort Worth where they had their children. In 1972, the Boyd family moved to Azle, where they would raise their family. She was proud of her 50-year membership in the First United Methodist Church of Azle, where she served on several committees over the years, including chairing the bereavement committee. Sallie had a servant’s heart, and enjoyed working at Attic Reruns benefiting the Azle Hospital Auxiliary, volunteering at the Lord’s Acre fundraiser at her church, and coordinating bereavement meals for many years for FUMC families who lost loved ones. In addition, for over 20 years she was responsible for counting and applying church tithes, donations, and gifts according to intended purposes. She was an avid reader, loved playing bridge, but most importantly loved spending time with her family and friends. Over the years, Sallie touched many lives with her zest for life and her sense of humor. She will be missed by all who knew her.
