Ronald Charles Messing, Freeland, Michigan. Beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away suddenly Saturday, December 3, 2022. Age 83 years. Son of the late Charles and Magdalene (Kirsch) Messing, Ronald was born October 15, 1939 in Ruth Michigan. He attended SS. Peter and Paul High School in Ruth, Michigan. Ron married Patricia A. Kwapis, his loving wife of 54 years, on November 23, 1968. She survives him. Ron was owner and operator of Messing Excavating since 1971. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Knights of Columbus Council #4232, Home Builders Association of Saginaw, Tri County Contractors, Pulaski Club and member of The WOW Gang, Ron enjoyed working with his bulldozer, going up North to his camp in Oscoda, hunting, polka dancing, playing cards especially Pinochle and spending time with his family. Surviving besides his wife Patricia are two daughters and three sons, Marilyn and George Hansen, Ann Arbor; Michelle and Tim Evon, Owosso; Eric and Hayley Messing, Clarkston; Aaron Messing, East Tawas; Alan and Cori Messing, Hemlock; nine grandchildren, Olivia, Patrick and Michael Hansen, Jacob, Zachary and Nicholas Evon, Katelyn and Elizabeth Messing, Maggie Messing; one sister, Carol and Harold Dropeski; four brothers, Ben and Pat Messing, Harry Messing, Cliff and Sue Messing, Mike and Sherry Messing; brothers-in-law, Paul Slater, Val and Corinne Kwapis; many nieces, nephews and special friends. Ron was preceded in death by three sisters, Alice and Ken Vahovick, Lillian Slater and Faye and Steve Kapovich. Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw. Rev. Fr. Richard Bokinskie will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. (between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service, led by Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly, will take place 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
