Greenfield – Ronald L. Arvin, age 80, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Life’s Journey Hospice. Ron was born in Indianapolis on October 13, 1942, to Marcellus and Henrietta (Bartel) Arvin. He graduated from Arsenal Tech High School in 1961. He married Becky Jo Himmel on August 7, 1971. Ron worked for Perkins Furniture Transport as a dispatcher in Indianapolis for 22 years. He also worked for Dish Network as a warehouse manager, retiring in 2011. Ron was a member of St. Michael’s Parish in Greenfield. He enjoyed spending time with his daughter and family. He liked yard work and watching movies and football. He also enjoyed classic cars. Ron is survived by daughter Amy (Joe) Harrity; grandchildren, Connor, Evelyn, Sabrina, Gabriel, and Bridget Harrity; nephews Doug, Michael Joe, and Robert; and niece Karen. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Becky; and sisters, Rosemary Reinking and Diane Throckmorton. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022, with a Rosary Service beginning at 3:00 p.m. and calling hours from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 515 Jefferson Blvd., Greenfield, IN 46140. Father Aaron Jenkins will be officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis. Memorial contributions may be made to the Hancock County 4-H Program.
