Ronald’s Obituary Ronald Allen Morris was born on April 22, 1942 in Weldon, North Carolina to Florence and Joseph Morris. He is one of 8 children. He was raised in a god fearing home where parental say so, was so and Christ was the head of his home. During his early years, Ronald made sure his elders were “tended” to. One would find him Sunday mornings walking his grandmother to and from church and making sure his momma was ok. He was truly a way maker. His love for photography developed into him becoming a prime photographer taking pictures on the side of the road where he met his soon to be wife of 58 years. In his early teens, his family migrated to New York where he attended and graduated from White Plains High School. He was known for his athleticism and dominance on and off the field; setting records in football and track and field for all to remember. After high school he signed on to serve his country as a Marine, where he graduated at the top of his class. Shortly after he welcomed his first and eldest child from a brief marriage. A few years later he married his childhood sweetheart. This union welcomed 4 children. He worked as a laborer/foreman. He was a member of Local 60 where he made a living building and creating infracture and overseeing large scale projects. He instilled qualities that one should work hard and if you were going to do something, you were to put forth your best effort. He was known as a force to be reckoned with, yet exuded a certain charisma and charm. He believed in chivalry and tradition. He believed it was a man’s job to protect and provide. Holding a door, being patient, kind and understanding, helping others, having manners and standards were a must. He never raised a hand or his voice to a woman and protected those that did. He was a man of few words, observant and no nonsense. He encouraged and supported many in their quests to do better in life. His happiest moments were with his family and seeing his children together, supporting and helping one another. He was an amazing protector, mentor and father. He is survived by his wife, Rev. Bertha Lee Morris, son, Gregory ( wife – Lisa); daughters, Ellin, Florence and Tanisha;Sisters: Lucille Ochola and Joyce Bailey, 15 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, friends and family. Ronald took his last breath here on earth and became “a new” on December 28, 2021. He joins his mother and father: Florence and Joseph, sisters: Juanita Corbett and Adrienne Robinson;brothers: Joseph, Pete and James Morris; daughters: Marilyn Morris and Veronica Lassic and great grandson, Xavier Lassic in eternal life and everlasting love.
