Obituary Robert Martin Gird was born on September 5, 1944, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Loyce Nadine (Bode) Gird and Robert Edmund Gird. He was raised in Tulsa and graduated from Nathan Hale High School. He spent a short time in the military, and after his discharge, worked at various jobs in Tulsa throughout his life. Buster, as he was known to his family, enjoyed fishing and camping with his immediate family for many years. He became disabled in his 60s and spent his later years at Southern Hills Care Center in Tulsa. After his parents’ deaths, he was transferred to The Terrace at Cannon Falls in Cannon Falls, MN, to be nearer to his brother, Roger and extended family. He died on Friday, April 22, 2022, at the age of 77 years. Robert never married and is survived by his only sibling, Roger Gird and sister-in-law, Karen Gird, and several nieces and nephews. A memorial gathering will be held at Lundberg Funeral Home in Cannon Falls on Thursday, August 4 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. A short prayer service will be at 6:30 pm, given by Father Terry Beeson of St. Pius V Catholic Church, Cannon Falls. Interment will be held at a later date in Floral Haven Cemetery in Broken Arrow, OK, near his parents.
