Rita Richard Mouton March 24, 1921 – January 1, 2022 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Cow Island—A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at St. Anne Catholic Church honoring the life of Rita Richard Mouton of Cow Island, who passed away peacefully at the age of 100, on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at The Ellington of Rayne. She will be laid to rest at St. Anne Cemetery. Reverend Matthew Barzare will be the Celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Con Celebrants will be Father Glenn Meaux and Father Mark Miley. Rita’s great grandsons, Justin Modica, Jared Modica, Blake Mouton, Tyler Mouton, Logan Detraz, Austin Detraz and Ryan Mouton will serve as pallbearers. Rita is survived by her three children, Richard Mouton and his wife, Anita, R.P. Mouton and his wife, Kathy, and Raye Nell Trahan and her husband, David; seven grandchildren, Ricky Mouton, Chloe Modica, Clay Mouton, Rhonda Detraz, Paul Mouton, Katie Primeaux, and Kristie Dupuis; ten great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Richard and Jean Hebert and her husband, Harold. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raywood Mouton; parents, Louis Richard and the former Nydia Chiasson; five sisters, Delta Corner, Laura Cabrol, Nydia Nunez, Rose Meaux, Joyce Falcon; and three brothers, Wilton Richard, Pervis Richard, and Delton Richard. The family requests that visiting hours be observed at St. Anne Catholic Church, 17315 Lionel Rd., Cow Island, on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 from 9:00 AM until time of services. A rosary will be prayed at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a mass be offered in her memory.
