Obituary Richard E. “Dick” Hill of West Deptford passed on December 19, 2022 surrounded by his family after a long battle with cancer. Born on March 10, 1937, to Alfred E. and Eva M. Hill. Married to Mari Ann (Mounce) Hill for 61 1/2 years. Father to Richard E. (Tracey) Hill, Gary D. (Anne) Hill, and Marcia L. (Don) Carter. Grandfather to Jessica (Matt) Craig, Grace Hill, Spencer Carter, Robin Hill, Hannah Carter, Alexis Hill, Molly Cate Hill, Caleb Carter, and Charlotte Hill. He was predeceased by his beloved grandson Daniel Hill. Dick graduated from Woodbury High School in 1954 and excelled in track. He held many local and state records in the hurdles. After high school, he attended the University of Michigan and competed in the hurdles internationally in 1956. Dick was a car salesman for 30 years in the Woodbury area. He was an avid golfer. Dick served as president of the Woodbury Country Club and worked many years during his “retirement” at Westwood Golf Club. He loved skiing with his wife, Mari Ann. They skied all over the world for over 40 years. Dick loved his family and completely enjoyed being surrounded by his grandchildren. Dick couldn’t go anywhere without seeing someone he sold a car to, someone who he knew from a golf course, or someone who told him that he looked like Jimmy Stewart. It was a wonderful life. Friends may greet the family from 10am – 12pm on Thursday, December 29, 2022 in the Budd Funeral Home, 522 Salem Ave, Woodbury, NJ. Graveside services will be private.
