Obituary Raymond V. “Ray” Baumgartner, Jr., age 89, a lifelong resident of Naperville, IL, passed away on Friday, December 31, 2021 at his home. He was born May 6, 1932 in Aurora, IL. Beloved husband of the late Marilyn J. Baumgartner, (nee Jungels), whom he married May 12, 1951 and who preceded him in death on February 16, 2009. Loving father of Sherry (Ed) Doherty, Raymond Baumgartner III, Harlan (Teresa) Baumgartner, Karen (George) Hayes, Nancy (Donovan) Billings and the late Frank (Linda) Baumgartner, adored grandfather of eleven and great-grandfather of eight, devoted son of the late Raymond V. Baumgartner, Sr. and Verna (nee Jungles) Baumgartner, dear brother of Walter “Wally” (Sonia) Baumgartner, Charles (Marsha) Baumgartner, Barbara Jo and the late Shirley (the late Joseph) Incaudo, brother-in-law of the late Emmerence (the late Ralph) Greenberg, the late Clarence (the late Florence “Flossie”) Jungels, the late Jim (the late Shirley) Jungels, the late Norman (the late Donna) Jungels, the late Albert (the late Jean) Jungels and the late Elaine (the late Albert) Haidu, fond uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. Ray grew up in Naperville, where he attended SS. Peter & Paul Grade School and Naperville Community High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a longtime meat cutter and butcher at National Tea Company in Elmhurst, IL and later worked as head custodian at Mill Street Elementary School, Naperville for many years. Ray was a longtime member of SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Naperville, Naperville Judd Kendall VFW Post 3873 and Naperville Lodge #1290 Loyal Order Of Moose. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, 11:00 AM at SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 36 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville. Inurnment will follow at SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Naperville. In lieu of flowers, donations in Ray’s memory may be made to: Naperville Responds for Our Veterans, 210 S.
