Ralph E. Hershey, Jr., 76, died on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Wellspan York Hospital. He was the husband of Sharon (Lehman) Hershey, sharing 54 years of marriage. Ralph was born in York on July 2, 1946, son of the late Ralph E. Hershey, Sr. and Florence I. (Kling) Hershey. Ralph served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Dallastown American Legion Post 605 and 40 & 8 Club. He enjoyed gardening in the summer and working on his family tree during the winter. In addition to his wife, Ralph is survived by three children, Tina Tyson and her husband, Harry of York, James Hershey and his wife, Stephanny of York; and Wendy Goshorn and her husband, Lee of Arizona; six grandchildren; three step grandchildren; four great grandchildren; nine step great grandchildren; and two brothers, Ronald and Rodney Hershey. He was preceded in death by a great grandson. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Road, York, with the Rev. Kelly Shiflett officiating. Those attending the service are asked to meet at the entrance of the cemetery at 2:15 p.m. Full military detail will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National MS Society, P.O. Box 91891, Washington, D.C. 20090-1891.
