On Thursday, December 29, 2022, Mr. Phillip Eugene Kelley departed this earthly life to rest forever in the bosom of our Lord, at home surrounded by his family. He celebrated his 80th birthday, on May 12, 2022. A lifelong resident of the Muskegon area, Phillip attended Muskegon Heights Public Schools graduating in 1960 and he was fortunate to attend his 62nd Class reunion this past summer. He retired from Kaydon Corporation after 39 years of service. While employed at Kaydon he served as Financial Secretary of Local Union #2597, and Treasure of the former Kaydon/Shoreline Credit Union for many years. He served as past president of the Men’s Greater Muskegon Bowling Association (GMBA), and was an avid bowler competing in various area leagues. Phillip was a member of Kingdom Embassy Covenant Church, Muskegon, MI. Phillip cherished his loving companion and wife, Shirley of 43 years, and his family of 6 children, Vivian (Andrew) Jones, Tracy (Kenneth) Darden, Kenneth Coleman, Previn Coleman, Ranada (Chip) Clark, and Marquita (Stacy) Holt. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 11:00AM at Kingdom Embassy Covenant Church, 3025 Glenside Blvd. Muskegon, MI. Visitation will be Friday, January 6, 2023, at the Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444 from 4:30-7:00PM, as well as one hour prior to the service on Saturday, from 10:00 – 11:00AM at the church.
