Philip LiRosi, 87 of Brooklyn, New York passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at the Sunrise Assisted Living of Marlboro in Marlboro, New Jersey. Born Wednesday, July 10, 1935, in Vizzini, a small town in Sicily, to the late Salvatore and Carmela LiRosi. Philip was raised in Vizzini, and would move to Australia at the age of 18, four years later settling in Brooklyn, and marrying the love of his life, Josephine Ventura. The couple would start a family of their own and raise their children in Brooklyn. Philip worked his entire life as a shoemaker for Capezio where he made ballet shoes for dancers including the NYC Ballet. Philip enjoyed playing the accordion dating back to his early days in Sicily where he performed at wedding marches. Philip came from a generation that worked hard to make a better life for his children. He was a caring and loving man, who would do anything for his family and friends. He touched many people around the world and left them all with very fond memories. Philip was predeceased by his brother Carlo and by his parents, Salvatore and Carmela. Philip is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Josephine, by his loving children Salvatore and his wife Ulrike, Camille Nichilo and her husband Paul, and by his cherished grandchildren Danielle and her husband Jared, Paul Jr. and his wife Elyse, and Philip and his girlfriend Samantha, and by his adored great grandchildren John and Ayla. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Michael Hegarty & John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals and Cremation Service, 3377 US Highway 9, Old Bridge, New Jersey. A Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday at St. Ambrose Church located at 81 Throckmorton Ln Old Bridge, New Jersey 08857. Interment will be in Holy Cross Burial Park, East Brunswick, NJ.
