Philip Leland (Phil) Edge, 75, of Travelers Rest, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at Palmetto Patriots Home in Gaffney, SC. Born in Spartanburg, SC, he was a son of the late Leland Thomas and Helen Virginia Dixon Edge. Mr. Edge was a Vietnam era U.S. Navy Veteran. It was one of his greatest honors to serve his country. He was a beloved Principal in the Greenville County School System for 36 years and he was a member of Marietta First Baptist Church. Surviving is his loving wife, Sharon E. Edge; a daughter, Sara Gilstrap (Matthew); two sons, Casey Philip Edge and Cory Dixon Edge (Kate) and four grandchildren, Lilla Maxwell, Natalie Gilstrap, Brody Edge and Roman Edge. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Travis Edge. A Memorial service will be held at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon at Marietta First Baptist Church with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 2 until 2:45 PM at the church prior to the service. The family will be at the home.
