He was a passionate Christ-follower, loving husband, father and friend. Peter was born on November 2, 1958, in Weymouth, MA, the eldest son of Pitt Frank Eaton and Rachel Helen Eaton. His siblings are Pastor Neil Thomas Eaton, of Halifax, MA, and Paul Allen Eaton, of Middleboro, MA. Peter’s friends and loved ones described him as “brilliant”, “well- informed”, “passionate”, “adventuresome,” “creative” and “loving.” He adored his children and grandchildren and would help a friend or relative in need at a moment’s notice. He earned the nicknames “Peterpedia” for his seemingly encyclopedic knowledge and “Pete” as a term of endearment. He loved to pursue respectful dialogues in the arenas of philosophy, politics, social issues, Biblical theology and Christian apologetics. After graduating from Weymouth High School in 1976, he attended the University of Valley Forge where he received his BA in Theology with a minor in Psychology. He went on to complete his MA in Film-Television at Regent University. Peter divided his time between Los Angeles and the Hampton Roads, VA region. He began his feature film directing career with the mob thriller “Gravity”, for which he won the Best Director Award at the Beverly Hills Film Festival. Subsequently, he helmed a romantic comedy titled “Sweet Good Fortune.” After relocating to Los Angeles, he directed the Lionsgate-released supernatural thriller “Necessary Evil,” starring Lance Henriksen and Danny Trejo. Most recently, he completed the Sci-fi/faith-based feature, “Past Shadows” starring Corbin Bernsen and Robert Shepherd. The film is currently streaming on Amazon Prime and Tubi. When Peter was not working on a film project, he was teaching and mentoring undergrad and graduate students as an Adjunct Professor at Regent University’s Film School. His memory will be carried on by those students whom he impacted. Peter is survived by his wife, Susanna Velasquez Eaton; three children and their spouses, Andrew Joel Eaton (wife Lori), Mallory Brooke Fyfe (husband Christian), Christopher James Eaton (partner Joan); his brothers; and three grandchildren, Liam, Maisy and Matilda.
