Paul R. Johnson, 81, of Rock Island, passed away Thursday November 10, 2022 at ProMedica, Davenport. A funeral services will be 10am Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Rafferty Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation will be 4 -6pm Tuesday at Rafferty Funeral Home, 2111-1st St A, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery, Rock Island with military honors by American Legion Post 246, Moline. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Seton School, Sacred Heart Church or Vietnam Veterans of America. Paul was born August 11, 1941 in Rock Island, the son of Robert and Alberta (Wolfe) Johnson. He married Grace J. Pauwels on January 30, 1965. She preceded him in death on December 7, 2011. Paul was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served during the Vietnam War. He worked at Illinois Bell retiring in 1999 after 30 years. He later worked at Hot Spot Pharmacy, Davenport. Paul was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Moline, Knights of Columbus, Allouez Council 3rd Degree, Rock Island, Moline American Legion Post 246, Vietnam Veterans of America and ATT Telephone Pioneer Club. He enjoyed fishing and woodcarving. Survivors include his children, Christine (Keith) Ogden, Carbon Cliff, IL and Robert (Jodi) Johnson, Moline; grandchildren, Ashley, Alex, Jessica, Stefanie, Anthony, Jennifer and Andrew and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Joseph, granddaughter, Anna Marie and sisters Rosann and Lavona. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Paul , please visit our floral store.
