Paul J. Bestvina, Jr. BESTVINA – Paul J. Jr., 94, of Stonycreek Twp., passed away on December 8, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his family. Born on April 17, 1928, in Cairnbrook, to Paul J. Bestvina, Sr. and Aloysia Bestvina. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty J. Bestvina, son, Timothy R. Bestvina, daughter-in-law, Arley J.Bestvina, numerous brothers, sisters and in-laws. He is survived by his daughter, Lisa M. Bestvina; grandchildren, Danette Grasser and Joseph Bestvina; great-grandchildren, E3 Dominic Hughes (Navy), Coty Grasser, Morgyn Bestvina, Kiley Brandle and Madelyn Bestvina; sisters, Victoria and Joanne; brothers, George H. and John; many nieces, nephews and extended family members. Paul graduated from Shade High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean War. Paul was employed at Bethlehem Steel, St. Benedict Catholic Church, St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Paul enjoyed to go fishing whenever he got the chance and tell stories about his time in Alaska. He loved spending time with his family and friends. Paul will be dearly missed by his family, friends, and his pets, Princess and Butterball. Friends will be received from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:30 p.m. at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal with military rites will be conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
