Howland August 13, 1930 – December 7, 2022 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Paul E. “Bill” Howland, age 92, of Greenfield, Ohio passed away Wednesday, December 7, 2022 at home. He was born August 13, 1930 in Greenfield, Ohio, the son of Frank and Edna (Smith) Howland. Bill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a founding member of the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. He was an avid fisherman, sports fan, gardener and outdoorsman, as well as a member of the Trinity Christian Union Church in Greenfield where he had served as Elder, Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher and bus driver. He retired in 1992 from Waddell’s in Greenfield where he was a cabinet maker. He was previously employed at American Pad & Textile Co. until its closing. He is survived by his wife, Joan (Sword) Howland whom he married August 4, 1951; one son, Paul (Karen) Howland, II of Greenfield; three daughters, Cheryl (Roger) Hartke of Cincinnati, Carol (Randy) Puckett of Greenfield, Cindy Jackson of Greenfield; ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one great grandchild; five brothers, Virgil, Dwight, Jack and Jerry Howland and one in infancy; five sisters, Violet Cottrill, Dorothy Cottrill, Edna Paul, and two in infancy; and both parents. Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 9, at Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield beginning with a Veterans Appreciation service then Pastor Marcus Tolle to officiate. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery with military rites provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Friday, at the funeral home.
