Patricia “Patsy” Ruth Ervin Hightower, 87, of Travelers Rest, went home to be with the Lord on November 19, 2022. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Jimmy Hightower whom she was married to for sixty-six years. They first met at Shiloh Baptist Church. Born on September 7, 1935, she was predeceased by her parents: John and Ruth McTindal Ervin. Patricia is survived by one daughter: Sandra Burnett (Toby), of Greenville, SC; two sons: Terry Hightower (Ann), of River Falls, SC and Jerry Hightower (Maria), of Zirconia, NC; one sister: Betty Epps; three grandchildren: Leslie Mau (Ryan), of Lynchburg, VA, Kristen Hightower, of Greenville, SC and Lance Burnett, of Charleston, SC; and three great-grandchildren: Gracie and Gabriel Mau, of Lynchburg, VA and Cameron Cook, of Greenville, SC. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers: Milton Ervin and William Ervin; and three sisters: Margaret Turner, Alma Dodson, and Nancy Moore. She attended Slater-Marietta High School and retired from Black Electrical Supply Co. Pat was a member of Marietta First Baptist Church. She loved her church family and enjoyed participating in all church activities. She was an active member of her Sunday School Class and WMU. Also, she was a member of the Lion’s Club of Marietta and Homemakers Club of Travelers Rest. Family was very important to her. She delighted in hearing the latest news about her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. (Proverbs 31:27) Pat and Jimmy enjoyed Traveling with Cattlemen’s Association visiting farms in the US and Canada. She had many friends and enjoyed talking with them every day. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Marietta First Baptist Church. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Marietta First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
