Patricia’s Obituary Patricia Ann Breheny, a life-long resident of San Antonio, died after a fierce battle with cancer, on Friday, August 5, 2022, surrounded by her husband and dear friends. Born November 15, 1953, in Hawaii, Patricia was one of three children, Roger was the oldest and Michael was the youngest. Her father was in the United States Air Force and stationed in Hawaii when Patricia was born. The Breheny family settled in San Antonio soon after. Patricia attended St. John Berchmans Catholic School and St. Francis Academy where she graduated with the class of 1972. She was known for her infectious smile, creative sense of adventure, exceptional skills in persuasion and her highly inquisitive mind. She was always willing and intrigued by new foods, experiences and adventures. Patricia attended UTSA where she studied history and education. After her studies she found success in a sales career. After more than 40 years in sales, Patricia’s stellar communication and negotiation skills afforded her numerous trips around the globe and countless awards and accolades. She spent the last 14 years at a company very dear to her heart, EKF/Stanbio Laboratories, where she became the National Public Health Sales Manager. She will always be remembered by her co-workers as an assertive, knowledgeable and fierce defender of exceptional customer service and an advocate for excellence. She excelled as a powerful and compassionate leader. Some of her best qualities included her keen memory, exquisite listening skills and attention to detail. Among her life-long friends and family, of which there are many, Patricia was known as the power-plug for coordinating gatherings, dinners, trips, and creative adventures. She was always ready to jump in to help cook, clean or just mingle among the crowd to charm them with her wit and engaging personality. In 1983, Patricia was extremely instrumental in forming a steadfast group of friends. This communion of friendship was fueled by Patricia’s desire to cement the longevity of the love and devotion shared among each friend in the group. Even today, this group lives on with a sense of family that few are honored to experience. On July, 4, 2022, Patricia married one of these special friends and became the wife of Steve Nienhaus. It was truly the happiest day of her life. Patricia fought valiantly until the very end and will leave her cherished friends and family with memories of her contagious laughter, her unwavering generosity and her bright, shining spirit. She is preceded in death by her father, Jim (Joseph) Breheny, mother, Carolina (Carrie) Oyervides Breheny, and brothers, Roger and Michael Breheny. Patricia is survived by her husband, Steve, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and Godchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held in October.
