Nona Jewel Glasson, 96, of Lubbock, Texas passed away September 16, 2022. Nona was born May 12, 1926, in New Baden, TX to Hardy Becktold and Katie Becktold. Nona married Nathan Henderson Lindley 1942. She & her children moved to Lubbock in 1952. Married J.L. Glasson 1954. She worked at Borden dairy, then graduated from beauty school at Isabell Powell’s. She was a beautician for over 30 years. She wasn’t able to finish school when she was young, so she earned her high school diploma at the Lubbock Adult Education Center at the age of 53. Then she went to South Plains College and earned her CNA certificate at the age of 56 followed by 20 years of service. Loved ones include son Nathan (Barbara) Lindley of Mansfield, TX; son Leon (Donna) Lindley of Kress, TX; daughter Darlene (Nick) Fuller of San Antonio, TX; daughter Cathy (Joe) Scott of Lubbock, TX; and daughter Lisa Averett (Stephen) of Jacksonville, FL; step-son Kinney (Barbara) Glasson of Eufaula, OK; 11 grandchildren Brian, Lori, Danny, Terry, Tricia, Amy, Sherry, Dewayne, Jennifer, Christy, and Michaela; 33 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, J.L. Glasson; father Hardy Becktold, mother Katie Becktold; 2 sisters, Selma Shadden and Virgie Meadors; 4 brothers, Elmer, Calvin, Dave and Alton Becktold; and 3 step-daughters, Ann Aguilar, Jean Glasson, and Nora Bentley. Donations recommended to the Alzheimer’s Association www.alz.org. Visitation will be at Sanders Funeral Home Wednesday, September 21, 2022, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be 10:00 AM Thursday, September 22, 2022, in Sanders Memorial Chapel with Donna Lindley and Tricia Guerrero officiating.
