Nola Louise Fischer, 86, of Russellville, Missouri, passed away peacefully early on Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was born on July 25, 1936 in California, Missouri; a daughter to the late George William Christ and Edith Minnie (Boeckhaus) Strobel. On July 18, 1970, she was united in marriage to Raymond Fischer, who preceded her in death. Nola was a 1955 graduate of California High School. She worked for Tweedie Footwear for four years before beginning her career working for the State of Missouri. She dedicated and served many years working as a data entry operator for the Department of Employment Security. She would retire from Employment Security after 24 years of service. During her childhood, Nola received her confirmation from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in California, MO. In her adult life, she was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Jefferson City, where she was very active and involved. She enjoyed reading, sewing, and putting together puzzles. Nola took pride in keeping her house and yard in immaculate condition and could often be found doing yardwork, which she enjoyed greatly. Most of all, she cherished taking care of her family and the time she spent with them, pets included. She will be deeply missed by those who love her. She is survived by her children, Devin Ray (Stacey) Fischer and Darla Kay (Mike) Linhardt; sister, Joyce (Lashley) Rohrbach; sister-in-law, JoAnn Strobel; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Raymond; parents, George William and Edith; brothers, Hilbert Strobel and Herbert Strobel; and sister-in-law, Wanda Strobel. Friends will be received from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2022 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Jefferson City. A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Sam Powell officiating. Burial will directly follow at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Trinity Lutheran Church for the encouragement and support shown to Nola throughout her life.
