It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Nicky “Nick” Lamar Kopacz, age 76, who passed away peacefully at his home in Navarre, FL on September 1, 2022. By his side was his devoted wife and best friend, Angie. Nick was born in Mt. Climent, Michigan on October 19, 1945. He was the 2nd child of Nicholas & Leonice Kopacz. He held a Master’s Degree from the University of West Florida. He was honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1971 after serving 2 tours of duty in Vietnam. Nick retired from AT&T and went on to work for TrueNet until his passing. He met the love of his life, Angie, through his sister Sharon when she and Angie were roommates. Nick & Angie’s love story began nearly 49 years ago on September 29, 1973, when they were married. Together they shared a fondness of travel, Disney, and the Jacksonville Jaguars; trying hard to never miss a game. In the spring of 1979 Angie gave birth to their son, Keith. Nick’s pride and joy. He was an amazing father, role model, and a hero to Keith. In his spare time, if not sitting on the porch with a Jim Bean & coke, he would be enjoying a game of golf with his buddies and/or his son, reading a Steven King’s novel or indulging in Star Trek fandom. Everyone enjoyed his company. He was full of life and had a wonderful sense of humor with a sharp wit that was infectious. Nick was someone you could count on; he had a huge heart and was always willing to help others. Nick is preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas & Leonice Kopacz and his brother Mikey. Nick will always be loved and remember by his loving wife, Angie; his son, Keith; his daughter in-law Tammy; his grandchildren, Bradley, Brent, and Bryston; his great grandson Bellamy; his brothers Royce and Malcolm; his sisters Sharon, Darla, and Nancy; his lifelong friends Kenny & Ann; his fur babies, Ponski, Franski, and Holly.
