Nelda Boatfield Jolly, age 56 of Centre passed away Wednesday, December 14th at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Friday, December 16th in the chapel of Perry Funeral Home with Rev. Eddie Nation, and Rev. Melvyn Salter officiating, the family will receive friends from 12:00 pm till time of service at the funeral home, a private burial will follow at Cherokee Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will include Greg Jolly, Tommy Loder, Jason Cambron, Jarad Cambron, Scott Pruitt, and Matthew Herrin. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Union State Bank. Survivors include her husband, Roy Glen Jolly; sons, Jonathon Jolly, Troy Jolly, chosen daughter, Beth Shipley; brothers, Michael (Lacy) Boatfield, David (Cindy) Boatfield, sister, Karen Boatfield; several nieces & nephews and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jonathan Boatfield. Mrs. Jolly was a native of Cherokee County and the daughter of the late Jesse & Faye Boatfield and was of the Baptist Faith, She was employed at Union State Bank and loved people. She was a second Mama to many. Nelda loved her family and a special group of girlfriends who traveled and spent time with her. Her greatest joy was being “Nana”. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be sent to Venecia’s Foundation. They were organized in the memory of Venicia Butler who lost her battle with breast cancer. They make and deliver care packages for patients who are on chemotherapy. Their packages include gas cards, ravel pillows, blankets and things to be used by the patient during treatment send all donations to Venecia’s Foundation P.O.
