Obituary Natalie LaCroix, 67, of Iowa City, passed away on December 18, 2022. Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, January 2, 2023 at The Kirkwood Room in Iowa City with a time of fellowship to follow until 4 p.m. Nat was born on December 18, 1955 in Waverly, Iowa to Robert and Mary (Peverill) Grover. She graduated from Solon High School and completed Kirkwood Community College’s Phlebotomy Program. Nat proudly served in the United States Army from 1974-1976. She was stationed in Germany during Vietnam. Upon discharge she returned to the Midwest and made North Liberty her home, eventually moving to Iowa City. On March 20, 2010 she married Karen Sheldon and the pair enjoyed many adventures together throughout the years. Nat enjoyed fishing, spending time at the casino and cooking. Nat and Karen especially enjoyed their time together boating on their pontoon. She was known for her unique sense of humor and style, and for preparing her many “comfort food” dishes of which she always made extras to share. Nat left a lasting impression on the lives of everyone who knew her. She will be sorely missed, eternally loved, and never forgotten. Nat is survived by her beloved wife, Karen; children: Robert LaCroix (Michelle Heinz) and Paul LaCroix; grandchildren: Brandon, Alexis, Christian and Elora LaCroix; siblings: Randy (Kris) Grover, Steven (Marilyn) Grover and Barbara Grover as well as her nieces and nephew: Lyndsi Price, Sondra (Andy) Lahr and Casey Grover. Nat is also survived by her longtime friend, Danita “Dani” Oldfather and her nurse and friend, Mary Eagan. She was preceded in death by her parents.
