Nancy Hemmerle May 24, 1932 – July 12, 2022 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Nancy Hemmerle, 90, of Lansdale, passed away on July 12, 2022, after a short illness. She was the daughter of the late Ruth (Swartzlander) Hemmerle and Stanley “Ted” Hemmerle. Nancy was a long time resident of Lansdale. She was a graduate of the Lansdale High School, class of 1950, where she was a key member of the field hockey team. Nancy was employed by the Electric department of the Borough of Lansdale’s Municipal Authority. Nancy retired after 28 years with Union National Bank (now called Univest). After retirement she enjoyed working at Freddy Hill Farms. She was an avid sports follower, and a longtime member of Upper Dublin Lutheran Church. Survivors include her brother, R. Bruce Hemmerle (Sandra) of Lansdale, step brother J. Merrill Bishop (Anna Mae) of Harleysville, and three generations of nieces and nephews, to whom Aunt Nancy was deeply devoted. Nancy was preceded in death by her stepfather Robert, stepbrothers Robert and Walter, stepsister Gladys, and many cousins. Nancy was deeply devoted to her friends, family and church, always putting others first. She sent hand picked cards to everyone for every occasion, right up to the time of her passing. The family would like to thank the staff of Dock Woods and Caring Hospice for their compassionate care during Nancy’s final days. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 am on Saturday, July 16, 2022 at the Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home, with a funeral to follow directly after. Burial services will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, North Wales. Services were made under the direction of Huff & Lakjer Funeral Home.
