She was born in Detroit to Milton and Alda Gingrich. She married James Ernest on January 22, 1955. She graduated from Servite High School Class of 1953. Nancy was a homemaker a mother and had also worked many years at Macy, Hudson’s, and Target. She enjoyed doing ceramics, knitting, and quilting. She attended Sacred Heart Church for many years. Nancy survived by her 5 children Steven Ernest, Michael (Kris) Ernest, James (Cathrine) Ernest, Lynn (Matthew) Kondorak, Bradley Ernest, 7 grandchildren Michael, Eric, Danielle, Lauren, Isabelle, Jacob and Ava. Also surviving are siblings Mary Lou Grimes, David Gingrich and Sharon Joly. She was preceded by her husband James Ernest. A visitation to be held at Carman Funeral Home on Thursday from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral services to be 11:00 a.m. Friday at Sacred Heart Church in Brown City.
