Obituary Michael J. Hollister, 63, of Floyd, passed away June 26, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica. He was born, November 8, 1958, in Rome, NY, a son of John Walter and Mary O. Russo Hollister. Michael was a graduate of Holland Patent Central School. On July 21, 1979, he married Wendy Newman at St. Leo’s Church, Holland Patent. Mike began his career as an auto body technician when he was a teenager. He worked alongside his best friend, Rick Krebs, at Rick’s Body Shop, until Rick’s passing in 2020. Mr. Hollister was a member of Floyd United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He especially loved time spent with his family. He is survived by his wife, Wendy; two children and four granddaughters, son, Jared Michael Hollister and wife Nicole, and their daughters, Meghan and Miranda, and daughter, Patricia Renee Doney and husband Drew, and their daughters, Catherine and Amelia, all of Albany; and a brother, Steven Hollister. The family would like to thank family and friends who have offered their support and friendship during Mike’s illness. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions to American Cancer Society in Mike’s name. Calling hours are Tuesday, July 5th, from 4:00-7:00 p.m., at Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 40 Main St., Whitesboro. A prayer service will take place at 7:00 p.m., immediately following the visitation. Interment in Townsend Cemetery, Stittville, will be at the convenience of the family.
