Melvin G. Gibson, Jr., age 73, of Chillicothe, passed away at 4:40 a.m. on Thursday morning, December 15, 2022, at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe. On Monday, September 12, 1949, in Ross County, he was born the son of the late Melvin G. and Rosetta Marie Beverly Gibson, Sr.. He married the former Linda (Maiden Name) and she survives. Also surviving are his children, Ebony Gibson, of Chillicothe, Ashley (Robert Anderson) Gibson, of Chillicothe, Melvin G. (Kristy Bonner) Gibson III, of Chillicothe, step-children, Michelle (Mike) Lewis, Jason (Tonya) Andrews, grandchildren, Malachi, Marcel, Da’Quan, Quinton, Laila, DeVaughn, Danea, Melvin G. Gibson IV, Mathias, Marshall, step-grandchildren, Lauren, Ryan, great-grandchild, Cameron, sister, Joanna Quito of Daytona, FL, sister-in-law, Uvette Gibson-Barnett of Chillicothe, numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, David Gibson, Keith Ray Gibson, brother-in-law, Romeo Quito, grandson, Demetrius James. Melvin was a 1968 graduate of Adena High School. He retired from Budd Manufacturing in Frankfort. Melvin loved to golf and spend time with his grandchildren. A funeral service for Melvin will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2022, in the EBRIGHT FUNERAL HOME, Frankfort. Following the service, Melvin will be laid to rest in Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort. Family and friends can visit with Melvin’s family on Thursday morning, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
