Mrs. Melodie Sue Dovel, 57, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 5, 2022, at her home in Advance, Indiana. She was born December 26, 1964, in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late Edward Englert and Dorothy (Ott) Englert. Melodie was married to Michael T. Dovel; he survives. She was a graduate of John Marshall High School in Indianapolis. Throughout her life, Melodie worked in many homes around the area helping families with the cleaning. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Michael T. Dovel of Advance; two children, Randy Dovel of Advance and Scott (Cheyenne) Dovel of Tipton, Indiana; granddaughter, Deseria Hawkins; siblings Ralph Nickels of Washington, Indiana, Agnes (Lonnie) Zimmerman of Fairland, Indiana, Nancy (Don) Ade of Florida, and Dennis (Sharon) Englert of Lebanon; two nieces, Amber Rogers and Amy Deleon; and several nephews. In addition to her parents, Melodie was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph Nickels, III, Thomas Nickels, and Robert Englert. No Services will be held. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
